Synopsis:

L'Amour Cache is an adaptation of the best-selling mystery novel of Danielle Girard, published in Italy in 1997. Produced by Soho Films, Cristaldi Pictures and Tarantula Luxembourg, L'Amour Cache has a budget of 4,5 million euros, including the fiancial support of 1,8 million euros from the Italian Ministry of Culture. Shot entirely in French, the film plays out though the ongoing analysis sessions between a woman who has tried to commit suicide for a third time (Huppert) and a clinical psychiatrist who obsessively works to unlock her patient's inviolable silence (Scacchi). As the details of a devastated life emerge - a rushed marriage, an unwanted pregnancy and the insupportable burden of obligatory love - the analyst herself begins questioning the validity her own existence.
