Synopsis:
L'Amour Cache is an adaptation of the best-selling mystery novel
of Danielle Girard, published in Italy in 1997. Produced by Soho
Films, Cristaldi Pictures and Tarantula Luxembourg, L'Amour Cache
has a budget of 4,5 million euros, including the fiancial support
of 1,8 million euros from the Italian Ministry of Culture. Shot
entirely in French, the film plays out though the ongoing analysis
sessions between a woman who has tried to commit suicide for a third
time (Huppert) and a clinical psychiatrist who obsessively works
to unlock her patient's inviolable silence (Scacchi). As the details
of a devastated life emerge - a rushed marriage, an unwanted pregnancy
and the insupportable burden of obligatory love - the analyst herself
begins questioning the validity her own existence.
