MICHAEL DIAMOND
After ten years of working in the professional theatre as an actor and
director, Mr. Diamond co-produced and co-wrote the one man show Woody
Guthrie; America's Dustbowl Rebel, based on the writings and
songs of the folksinger Woody Guthrie. The show played the Cherry
Lane theatre in New York for six months then toured the country for
three years, including a performance in 1979 at the White House for
President Carter. A year later, he co-produced his first show on Broadway,
A Life, by Hugh Leonard, starring Roy Dotrice, Pat Hingle
and introducing Dana Delaney.
A Life was nominated for four Tony awards. The next year he was an
associate producer on both the twentieth anniversary Broadway production
and tour of Camelot, starring Richard Burton, and the twenty-fifth
anniversary Broadway production of My Fair Lady starring

producer, both
on Broadway and in London, was Lillian Hellman's Little
Foxes, starring Elizabeth Taylor. He was
an associate producer of Baby, the Broadway musical with
lyrics and direction by Richard Maltby, music by David Shire and book
by Sybil Pierson.
In London he co-produced a musical starring Roger Reese at the Young
Vic titled Masquerade, based on the best-selling book by
Kitt Williams, with music and lyrics by Rod Argent, book by Frank
Dunlop. And in Toronto, at the O'Keefe Center, he co-produced a drama
both mysterious and murderous by Bernard Slade, before the movie,
titled Fatal Attraction, which starred Ken Howard. Most recently
he co-produced Lady Chatterly - The Play at the Cockpit theatre
in London for a limited run. He is the screenwriter of A Piece
of Eddie Rush and Dead Witness and has two plays; Seasons
In Black & White and Bodies In Motion. Mr. Diamond is also currently
working on Maine Tiger, a novel for young adults.
